How did the ancient people make hunting tools? - From the lesson of experimental archeology

An experimental archeology lesson on the basics of Archeometry was held at the School of Political and Social Sciences of the Western Caspian University.

Experimental archeology deals with the making of tools or objects using ancient technologies, and the next step is to test those tools and study the way of life of primitive people.

This time our experimental archeology lesson was based on lytic technology. Researcher of the Institute of Archeology, Ethnography and Anthropology of ANAS Ajdar Babazadeh gave information about the production of labour and hunting tools made of stone by Paleolithic people and the rules of application of these tools. Samples of raw materials used to make the tools were also shown. Then, our students practiced making stone tools, cutting deer antlers with a cutting stone tool, and processing leather with a stone saw.
