Online Forum for Chemistry & Biology Teachers
WCU organised the Republican Online Forum for Chemistry & Biology Teachers. About 2,000 teachers presented more than 1,500 schools from different regions of the country at the Forum organised by the Natural Sciences and Ecology & Environment departments of the University's School of High Technologies & Innovative Engineering.
In his opening speech, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Huseyn Bagirov noted that after the glorious victory in the Patriotic War under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, our country has entered a new stage of development and new challenges have emerged in the field of education in the new era.
“In the new era, there are very important requirements for higher education institutions. The UN’s assessment of university services on 17 goals for sustainable development against the background of global challenges is not accidental. It is gratifying that Times Higher Education, one of the most influential rating agencies in the world, has included 6 universities from our country in the ‘THE Impact Ranking’ for 2021. Moreover, WCU is the best 601+ among about 1250 higher education institutions and the University is among the most advanced 201+ educational institutions according to 5 purposes,” he elaborated.
Professor Bagirov noted that the application of the STEM education system is very relevant against the background of today’s global education trends. Speakers at the forum noted that the application of innovative technologies in education has created a new stage in the field of chemistry and biology, one of the most important fields of natural sciences.
It should be noted that the purpose of the Forum is to create integration between universities & high schools, to create conditions for discussion of the achievements of developing sciences such as chemistry and biology, to collect opinions & suggestions of the scientific community, and to form and develop interest in creative and experimental research.
The forum was broadcast live on the University’s YouTube channel.
